The political shift on DACA by President Trump is tectonic.
Of course, it isn’t the earth shifting in this instance.
It is stale politics and the suffocating Democrat-Republican split trembling, earth quaking, and creating a new playing field.
The announcement yesterday by House and Senate leaders that a deal protecting “Dreamers” has been made and will include a border security package comes as a shock and with surprise.
Yet there is nothing but a yawn from the national media in all its fakery — the same national media that made the supposed end of DACA like the coming end of the world.
Smaller headlines, fewer commentaries, abject dismissal of this stunning turn around by editors throughout the industry is a bigger story than DACA being saved.
Republican conservatives were supposedly outraged yesterday.
“The Trump base is blown up, destroyed,” Representative Steve King said.
He’s as wrong as the entire national press, less the members of the non-liberal, less bigoted press, who all understand then president has enjoyed a moment of remarkable breakthrough.
He’s had the ultimate entrepreneurial moment.
The same can be said for Schumer and Pelosi, all of whom have hatched a deal that will go down in recent political history as historic.
All of this follows a so-called very productive dinner meeting with the president at the White House focusing on the DACA program.
“We agreed to enshrine the protections of DACA into law quickly, and to work out a package of border security, excluding the wall, that’s acceptable to both sides,” said Schumer and Pelosi.
The White House lumped this victory in with other political ingredients mentioning DACA as one of several issues, including tax reform, infrastructure and border security that were wrapped into this incredible salad mix.
What does all of this mean?
Both sides of the aisle are giving and taking to finally move forward in Washington DC where government has been locked down in being and nothingness for years.
The White House in a release called the DACA resolution with other seasonings “a positive step toward the president’s strong commitment to bipartisan solutions.”
It was, everyone can agree, much more than this.
It serves as the beginning of a new era, an achievement utterly lost on the liberal national press and the politically correct media.
